A community club at New Alder Park
AFC Monton began life in 1916 and has grown through numerous changes of ground, league and structure. Today the club is based at New Alder Park, a ten-acre site in Winton in the City of Salford.
Development of the site has included new and improved grass pitches, underground drainage, training space, better access and a replacement clubhouse. The facilities have allowed the club to broaden its football provision across open-age, veterans and junior teams while supporting coaching and participation for young players.
The club’s development has always depended heavily on volunteers, coaches, managers and supporters. Its long-term focus is to keep strengthening links with the local community while improving the football and facilities available at New Alder Park.
Club status
AFC Monton operates with the objective of promoting community participation in amateur association football and providing facilities for football and related recreation. The club became a Community Benefit Society in 2015.
